Managing Director

Izzy joined Batch in 2022 having had a long career delivering a broad range of business solutions across the retail, supply chain and distribution sectors. In 2024 Izzy took over the role of Managing Director for Batch from Fraser Tanner following his decision to take a step towards semi-retirement and now leads the business to provide solutions that improve the flow of information between companies within the book trade.

CEO Batch For Books

Fraser Tanner joined Batch Ltd in 2000 from the world of foreign exchange, where he had rolled out an internet trading solution for business-to-business payments through the international banking systems. In developing Batch to improve the flow of information and integration between companies within the book and non-book trade, Fraser was instrumental in winning UK industry awards for the service. His focus now is on further developing the US business, Batch for Books

Administration Manager

Roshni ensures that crucial financial transactions proceed smoothly across the entire business: Batch, Batch for Books (our US company), and the BatchLine POS stock management system. She manages the day-to-day running of Batch in conjunction with Paul, Lori and the rest of the admin team.

Business Development Manager

Simon was Batch's first full-time employee when he joined in March 2000. He designed the original Batch Returns system, which was further developed by Maria Quinn and her team. Simon’s role includes liaising with suppliers on the use of the system. He also sits on a number of industry steering groups and co-ordinates with our external IT experts on new developments.

Assistant Technical Business Analyst

Kishan joined Batch in 2022 as his first permanent role post-graduating that same year. Kishan’s role consists of dealing with booksellers' and suppliers' technical queries. He also monitors file processes and business communications to ensure all types of files are collected, processed, and sent out efficiently and coherently.

Senior Support Technician

Martin joined Batch to act as booksellers' main support contact for BatchLine POS, a position he held for many years when the business was part of Bertrams. Today BatchLine is installed in around 300 shops in the UK, Ireland and as far afield as the Cayman Islands. As lead engineer, Martin works closely with the rest of the team on software development, customer training and support.

BatchLine Technician

Chris joined Batch in October 2023 as our newest BatchLine recruit. He works closely with Sam, Martin and Jon (our lead developer) to support and train booksellers in the best use of the system. He has previously worked in IT Support, supporting a multitude of users both in the UK and across Europe, on software QA (quality assurance) and testing. Chris says "I’m really looking forward to getting to know the different bookshops and how they operate."

BatchLine Technician

Sam worked in retail and in events before joining BatchLine. He works closely with Martin Beach and the development team on improvements to the system, as well as providing daily support to booksellers. He says "It has been a delight chatting to all the lovely booksellers who are so varied and interesting."

Program Manager

A long-time veteran of the indie bookstore community, Nathan manages the Batch for Books program in the US. He works closely with bookstores and book vendors to help them most effectively use Batch for Books and provide support for any and all user inquiries.

Sales and Marketing Manager

Janet spent many years as a commissioning editor in non-fiction publishing. She is often the first point of contact for booksellers enquiring about Batch and BatchLine. She creates our promotional material and, as part of the sales team, enjoys presenting our UK and US services to booksellers worldwide. She has a writing alter ego called Jan Ellis who is currently 'resting'.

Administrative Assistant

Paul assists Roshni Sedani and other colleagues with a range of administrative tasks and provides back-up to booksellers around the world. If you have an issue with Payments or Returns, Paul is usually the man with the answers. Reggie, the official Batch dog, technically belongs to Janet Ravenscroft but secretly loves Paul more.

Administrative Assistant

Lori assists Roshni Sedani and works closely with Paul James. As well as her daily administrative duties, Lori assists with the set-up of booksellers on Batch Payments and Returns accounts and provides training and valuable after-care. After working for many years in the travel industry, Lori is predominantly responsible for looking after our international booksellers. With a passion for delivering excellent customer service, Lori has become a firm favourite with booksellers.
